Is hapiness a choice? A

There is no end. There was no good riddance. It is that exact attitude that creates a world of disharmony you speak so strongly against. We are all deserving of love and respect regardless of our actions. We are all doing the best we can from our place of consciousness and this must always be remembered. I had the choice of learning from or running from my biggest fear. I had the choice to make her wrong or to forgive. She had a moment of weakness. She was lost. She needed forgiveness, love, and strength more than ever. If I were to resist what had happened I would have been lost in my own living hell. I would have helped to create another broken family and I would be broadcasting and creating bitterness and distrust in all my thoughts words and deeds. The point is my wife and I are still married and more deeply connected than we ever thought possible BECAUSE of how we chose our way to happiness. My definitions of love, forgiveness, trust, understanding, compassion, and acceptance were all redefined by this experience. I believe that life, the universe will create opportunities for us that allow us to experience ourselves as who we think we are. The universe gave me the opportunity to prove to myself that I am the man I profess to be, that of unconditional love. We are all bigger than our circumstances. Yet, few of us have the determination to look squarely at what is before us and welcome all things. Most of us run when something appears uncomfortable. When we can give up being right about the way we think things are or should be we can be open to a world of counter intuitivity that embraces all events as opportunities to experience ourselves as who we are or who we are evolving to be. We get to choose happiness regardless of how anyone else is playing the game. This is a conscious life rather than a reactive life. Hard, yes. Delusional, at first. Worth it, definitely!

I am reminded of the quote from Ghandi, "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians, they are so unlike your Christ."

It is time we cultivate the muscles and strength for mindfulness and consciously choosing happiness. Just like any physical conditioning it takes daily practice. We can't expect to run a marathon overnight. When we are ready, our hearts will guide us to the practices we seek. We are a society that has forgotten how to practice much of anything...health, nutrition, finances, relationships. Anything that takes commitment is passed over for instant and fleeting gratification. I digress a bit; however, it is all connected to living consciously and in happiness and joy.
